ART IN THE MAKING WITH: Resoborg

South African-born artist Resoborg works internationally, having to date created murals and attended artist residencies in New York (US), Helsinki (Finland), Auckland (New Zealand) and South Africa.

In 2015 he was selected and commissioned by Queens College, New York City, to produce a mural reflecting contemporary South African culture. Titled ‘Mission Possible, it now belongs to the campus permanent collection. Considered a highlight of the artist’s career, the artwork’s subject matter explores themes of positivity and hope while his country of birth continues to face ongoing political turmoil and racial tension. It is a testament to Resoborg’s desire to create work that questions contemporary culture, celebrates the good in humanity and encourages a kinder, more considerate human existence.
